StellenbeschreibungPhD in physics, quantum technology, electronics engineering or similar 3+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing and trapped-ion quantum technology Experience in industrial environment is an asset. Proficiency in English. German or willingness to learn is an asset. Motivated team player with good communication skills. Willingness to relocate to Austria / Villach. Willingness to travel. Diverse research activities with many technical challenges. State-of-the-art laboratory facilities and equipment. Location in the heart of Europe in Austria – relocation support for non-European nationalities. Internal and external training opportunities for career development. Your future responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced research engineer leading the development of ion-trap chips (ITCs) at SAL. You will become part of a highly motivated, international team committed to realizing the building blocks of next generation quantum technology. Your work will be embedded in an international collaborative network.
- Coordinate ITC development and fabrication across different research units and cleanroom facilities.
- Execute small-scale fabrication and prototype for ITC devices in cleanroom facilities utilizing 200 mm wafer-level technology.
- Coordinate testing of developed ITC devices.
- Co-develop the design, fabrication and technological advancement of ion trap chips.
- Perform quality control and documentation for the statical process control.
- Communicate and report research findings to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
- Communicate and align with industry and academic partners
- Project management
- R&D project acquisition
