Key responsibilities include driving the development of cutting-edge ion trap chips and advancing their integration into quantum processing units (QPUs).Co-develop next-generation QPUs with commercial partnersDrive technology development for trapped-ion quantum processors, focusing on scaling towards very large chipsPerform process integration of photonic and electrical components into the QPU's fabrication routeEnable research through projects with academic partnersSupervise master and PhD studentsThis position offers a career path for tech experts, allowing you to focus deeply on technology while furthering your career. You will be part of an international team dedicated to making quantum computing a reality.To succeed in this role, you should possess : A PhD in Physics, Quantum Engineering, Photonics, or similar field5+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, quantum optics, and / or trapped-ion quantum computingFluency in English, German skills or willingness to learn are a plusThis role is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H.
