At the Institute of Chemical Technologies and Analytics , in the Research Group for Surface Analytics, Trace Analytics and Chemometry TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (prae-doc) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours / week. Expected start : October 2025.

Tasks

  • Committed collaboration in the preparation and implementation of associated research projects
  • Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks of the research group
  • Supervision of students in laboratory exercises for the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Technical Chemistry in German and English
  • Organizational and administrative support for various teaching tasks in German and English - seminars, lectures and examination
  • Deepen scientific knowledge
  • Participation in scientific events (e.g. conferences, ...)
  • Preparing a doctoral thesis and publications

Your profile

  • Completed master's or diploma degree in chemistry or equivalent university degree in Austria or abroad
  • Excellent knowledge in the analytical characterization of nanoparticles (elemental composition, particle size, size distribution, ...)
  • Practical experience in the analysis of solid samples using LA-ICP-MS
  • Proficiency in scientific programming (e.g., Python)
  • In-depth knowledge in the field of statistical data analysis
  • Ability to work in a team, problem-solving skills and innovative ability
  • Excellent proficiency in German (B2) and English (B2)
  • Interest in research in the subject area and in working with students

  • Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,786.10 / month gross, 14 times / year for 30 hours / week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
