Position Overview The Business Unit Director for Surgery Austria is responsible for managing sales, marketing and P&L for the Franchise and leadership of the entire Surgery team. The position reports into the Country Lead MedTech Austria and is a member of the Austria MedTech board, closely collaborating with the related functions and other franchise of the organization. Tasks & Responsibilities :
- Responsible for delivering on P&L (sales, operating expenses, net income) targets
- Responsible for developing the three years Strategic Plan for the Surgery organization and owner of the Surgery annual Business Plan in alignment with Mid-Sized Markets and Franchise Strategic Priorities
- Direct the execution of Business Plans and Sales Targets, KPIs and metrics for which measured performance against
- Use deep market insights to create new commercial models and innovative solutions that optimize stakeholder value, integrate process vertically and drive growth to create sustainable and measurable value for Austrian customer base
- Shape & drive the leading, digitally enabled Value Based Healthcare Transformation Strategy for the Surgery organization
- Reinforce the Value proposition of Surgery and drive customer engagement process accordingly (incl standardization of processes)
- Implementation of value offerings with all important accounts
- Shaping the market mindset to measure value as success and not only price
- Collaborate with internal departments and relevant parties to assess new technology, licensing, partnership & acquisition targets, evidence generation needs and new product specifications
- Provide transformational leadership through effective organizational design, change management, focused talent selection and new capabilities building
- Ensures a diverse pipeline of successful leaders through coaching and mentoring. Shows talent development mindset that encompasses providing courageous feedback and serves as a strong role model

- BA / BS required; MA, MSc, MBA preferred
- Experienced leader with demonstrated track record in multiple business situations : new business, turnaround and change management, realignment and sustain the success model
- MedTech experience essential, experience in surgical business preferred
- Strong business and financial acumen and strategic mindset
- Experience in leading complex commercial activities incl. multi stakeholder negotiations
- Awareness of local economic environment and dynamics of Austrian healthcare market
- Track record in building mutually beneficial networks and partnership models with key external leaders and agencies to develop value-generating solutions
- Drive for results—set the pace for the team to deliver stretch initiatives and to take required decisions
- Unquestioned ethics, integrity, and Credo-based leadership
- Strong organizational leadership, with ability to inspire and mobilize a large organization through periods of continuous change and transformation
