The main purpose of the internship is to provide technical support for RAS / NSNI activities related to Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and the Nuclear Harmonization and Standardization Initiative (NHSI) related activities.

Functions / Key Results Expected

Assisting in maintaining the SMR RF public website on RegNet, including updating information.

Developing a programme of improvement for the SMR RF restricted website.

Developing and deploying new web pages, features, and functionalities.

Performing routine website audits to identify and fix broken links, security vulnerabilities, and outdated content.

Troubleshooting website issues and providing technical support.

Collecting, organizing and sorting SMR-related data for the NHSI's SMR Regulation and Cooperation Hub.

Testing all modular functions of the Hub before launch.

Providing IT technical support to the SMR RF Secretariat in meetings, workshops, and other events.

Qualifications and Experience

University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Nuclear Engineering or another technology-related field

Experience in website development, including graphic design skills and proficiency in using SharePoint and MS Teams (Asset)

Basic knowledge of tools and programming languages for website development (such as HTML, CSS, or JavaScript), and responsive design principles (Required)

Excellent command of MS Office (Required)

Excellent time management skills, communication skills and attention to detail (Required)

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment (Required)

Good awareness of the IAEA and its activities (Asset)

General knowledge of Small Modular Reactors and / or nuclear safety (Asset)

Excellent oral and written command of English (Required). Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French and Russian) is an asset

Applicant Eligibility

Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree.

Candidates may apply up to one year after the completion of a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree.

Candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship programme.

Good written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish or Russian) an asset.

Candidates must attach two signed letters of recommendation to their application.
