Technical Assistant (f / m / d) – Cancer Evolution and Genomics

To strengthen our research into how pediatric cancers evolve, the Cresswell group is recruiting a Technical Assistant (f / m / d) to contribute to projects in the team. In this responsible role, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary competence center for pediatric cancer research and to have a direct influence on understanding how cancers develop resistance to therapy. You will be a core member of the team and contribute to research efforts using state-of-the-art single-cell sequencing, drug sensitivity profiling and lineage tracing technologies.

Your responsibilities

• You will become a core member of our team, supporting and enabling our ongoing research projects
• You will be responsible for purchasing and storing research materials, and maintaining an inventory to ensure reproducible science
• You will perform cell culture, barcoding, drug sensitivity assays and genomics focused on single-cell sequencing
• You will establish wet-lab operations in the team, supported by collaborating experimentalists in e.g., the Taschner-Mandl and Halbritter groups
• You will be responsible for troubleshooting experiments and interpreting results together with computational biologists
• You will ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and good laboratory practice
