Key Responsibilities

• Review, assess, and moderate user-generated content across major social media platforms in the German language, ensuring adherence to platform community standards and policies.
• Identify and action content that violates guidelines, including hate speech, misinformation, graphic material, spam, and other harmful or inappropriate content specific to German-speaking markets.
• Escalate complex or high-priority cases to senior moderation teams or specialised trust and safety departments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain a consistently high level of accuracy and productivity when processing large volumes of social media content within defined turnaround times.
• Stay up to date with evolving social media trends, emerging online threats, and platform policy updates relevant to the German-speaking digital landscape.
• Provide clear and constructive written feedback and annotations on flagged content to support quality assurance processes and ongoing team training.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including policy, legal, and product teams to refine content moderation workflows and improve platform safety standards.
• Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, participating in regular briefings, wellbeing check-ins, and professional development sessions.

Requirements

• Native or fluent German language skills (both spoken and written) are absolutely essential for this role — all content reviewed will be in German.
• Valid EU passport (mandatory requirement for all applicants).
• A strong understanding of social media platforms, digital culture, and online community behaviour, particularly within German-speaking regions.
• Excellent attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to make confident, policy-based decisions when reviewing sensitive or challenging content.
• Strong resilience and emotional maturity, with the ability to handle exposure to potentially distressing or graphic content in a professional manner.
• Good working knowledge of English for internal communication, training materials, and team collaboration purposes.
• Previous experience in content moderation, trust and safety, customer support, or a related field within the social media or digital industry is an advantage, though not strictly required.
