Project description
The postdoc position is made available through the Austrian Science Foundation research grant "Circular Competitive Equilibrium" (CCE) at the University of Klagenfurt's economics department. This research project seeks to determine the extent to which ideas of circularity can be combined with the economically well-developed notions of decentralized competition and private ownership economies. For this purpose, the project defines resources in an economically universal way and augments the standard microeconomic toolkit of general equilibrium analysis by introducing production and consumption acts. Differing from the standard production and consumption models, these acts convert sets of resources into individual utility and profit but also affect other elements of
extensions to public goods, externalities, asymmetric information, and missing markets will be explored on this basis.
Postdoc job duties
only occasional administrative duties should be expected.
Job environment
The position will be situated at and assigned to the Chair of Microeconomics and Game Theory, University of Klagenfurt, Austria. In addition to Prof. Schweinzer and the postdoctoral researcher, the project team consists of a doctoral student in Klagenfurt and Prof. Zaifu Yang, University of York, UK. Annual travel funds of up to €4.000 are available for the team.
Remuneration & particulars
The position starts in October 2025, or as soon as feasible after. Physical presence in Klagenfurt for a minimum of four days per week is required. Salary tax rates depend on individual circumstances. Austrian monthly salaries are paid 14 times (i.E., there are two double wages). Level of employment : 100%, limited to : 33 months. Gross minimum salary € 59.194,80 p.A. / € 4.932,90 p.M. (14 times a year), class B1.
