University Assistant (PhD position)

    • Extent of employment :

  • 20 hours per week; will be increased to 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed

    • Job Description : Your tasks :

  • PhD Thesis in the field of Functional Material Science
  • Writing a PhD Thesis (ideally a cumulative dissertation) in the field of simulation-based and / or AI-supported description / prediction of material behavior
  • Writing scientific publications as part of the dissertation
  • Organising courses
  • Co- / supervision of student research projects
  • Participation in courses and research projects of the department
  • Participation in conferences and congresses, advanced training courses
  • Administrative work at the department

    • Your profile :

  • Relevant degree / MSc degree in computer science, civil engineering, mechatronics, materials science, technical physics, technical chemistry of mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of numerical methods and / or AI desirable
  • Good knowledge of German and English
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Leadership skills in dealing with study assistants and in the supervision of BSc theses

    The minimum gross salary (stipulated by collective agreement) for 20 hours per week amounts to € 1.857 per month (14 times)

  • The salary will be increased to € 2.785 for 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed and sent to the Personnel Department. The salary will be higher if you have worked in a similar position before.
