Project Pursuit Manager (m/w/d)

This role will be responsible for developing and growing Emerson control systems/software and asset management in the DACH region by building a solid pipeline within new markets and strategic industries. This position will be involved in all phases, from cold canvas to contractual awards and their handover to our project execution organization.

They will focus on the South DACH region (Austria in particular).

• Sign responsible for achieving and exceeding sales, bookings and gross profit targets for the Systems and Software Group’s products, services, and solutions.
• Approach customers with a consultative and value-based approach to understand customer expectations and business drivers and convert these into sales and business results.
• Seek new opportunities to sell assigned products, solutions and services to new customers.
• Work in the core of our DACH sales strategy by building a strong pipeline within new markets and strategic industries.
• Build credibility for him/herself and the company that enables him/her to forge strong relationships that enable him/her to obtain an insider’s perspective on the customer’s business.
• Identify expansion and green field projects early in the development cycle and if appropriate involve the Global Project Pursuit team to maximize the chance to win.
• Drive project sales of Emerson Control Systems, Software and Solutions to new and existing customers in DACH.
• Proactively look for growth opportunities to increase Emersons participation in the industry.
• Negotiate with Customers Business Contracts within the agreed Delegation of Authority including discount, price, and volume structures.
• Maximize both “face –to-facetime” and other remote communication possibilities (phone, mail with customers and leverage our Inside Sales and Operations team to execute activities.
• Cooperate closely with the existing Emerson sales force and business development team to exploit the potential synergies in the best possible way.
• Provide competitive, technical and commercial input for each proposal.
• Deliver an accurate order forecast through CRM to give visibility to future business.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent in an engineering/technical related field or experience in selling Process Automation or Industrial Automation technology
• Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, with involvement from cold canvas to successful contract negotiation
• Ability to approach new potential customers, communicate effectively with different levels within their organization and lay the foundation for long term collaboration.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willingness to travel extensively in the covered area.

• Previous experience working with the Power and Energy, Chemical or Oil and Gas industries.
• Knowledge in the field of software solutions used in automation.

We offer an attractive compensation package that corresponds to your qualifications and professional experience. In accordance with legal requirements, we refer to the minimum salary specified in the Collective Agreement for the Metal Trade (Pay Group IV), which amounts to €47,810.14 gross per year (as of 2026). The actual minimum salary depends on the number of recognized years of prior service.

We are clearly willing to pay above this amount, depending on your qualifications and experience.
