The Manager Data Center (m / f / d) for our new location VIE13 in Vienna oversees the full operational performance, reliability, and compliance of one or more data center sites, ensuring excellence across infrastructure, service delivery, sustainability, and governance. Theymanage all maintenance and customer service activities, support asset and capacity management, and lead the site engineering team to achieve high-quality service, SLA adherence, and continuous improvement.
What you´ll do
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, SOX, and all site governance requirements, including inductions, permits, and QHSSE standards.
- Responsible for the adherence of the team to agreed procedures and work instructions in relation to daily site management, housekeeping, and status reporting.
- Maintain all site assets in excellent operating condition, ensuring reliable performance and accurate monitoring via BMS / DCMS / GCAP.
- Lead and develop the technical site team, ensuring training, certification, clear responsibilities, and strong performance management.
- Oversee all corrective and preventive maintenance, ensuring timely, high-quality execution and proper documentation.
- Accountable for ensuring all mandatory site documentation is up to date (. SLD’s, as built doc, SOP’s, EOP’s, MOP’s, BCP’s)
- Manage incidents and problem resolution, including root-cause analysis and long-term corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure service excellence and SLA performance in a 24 / 7 shift regime, delivering high-quality customer support (Remote Hands, audits, enquiries).
- Plan and manage site capacity (power, space, cooling) in coordination with Solution Engineering, including feasibility and CAPEX feedback.
- Develop and maintain a multi-year site plan, covering major maintenance, asset lifecycle, and long-term operational improvements.
- Optimize site energy efficiency and collaborate with internal teams to ensure sustainable, cost-effective operations.
- Accountable for maintaining a risk register for all DC assets on the sites
- Support budgeting, resource planning, and operational prioritization, including managing a small site budget and ensuring effective team utilization.
What you´ll need
5–10 years of experience in mission-critical mechanical & electrical environments, ideally within IT, telecoms, or large-scale infrastructure.3+ years of people management experience, including leadership of direct and indirect technical teams.Proven experience managing technical facilities operations, including maintenance governance and asset management.Strong understanding of Data Centre infrastructure, plant systems, and operational best practices (experience in DCs is a significant advantage).Hands-on experience with maintenance management systems (Excel to enterprise-level tools) and familiarity with ITIL / ServiceNow (preferred).Higher national certificate or equivalent technical education, with relevant professional training such as BIFM or similar FM accreditation.Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce clear reports and instructions.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, able to simplify complexity, identify root causes, and prioritize critical issues.High commitment, resilience, and drive, with a can-do mentality, adaptability to change, and ability to deliver on time, within budget, and to high quality.Customer-centric leadership style, skilled in managing performance, motivating teams, delegating effectively, and collaborating across multicultural environments.
