About the Job

We are seeking a Legal Officer to oversee and further develop our legal and regulatory framework, ensuring our operations align with national and international regulations. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key legal processes while working in a dynamic, fast-paced deep-tech environment at the forefront of quantum computing.

As a Legal Officer you will be responsible for supporting the set up of licensing agreements, ensuring adherence to compliance regulations, encourage and maintain export control processes and assist in general legal questions within the company. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless business operations while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Oversight : Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant legal and industry regulations, e.g. in the areas of technology licensing, intellectual property, and data security.
  • Documentation & Reporting : Maintain up-to-date records of compliance processes, licensing agreements, and regulatory filings.
  • Risk Management : Identify potential legal and compliance risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Stakeholder Coordination : Collaborate with legal counsel, regulatory authorities, and business teams to maintain best practices in compliance and licensing.
  • Export Control : Manage export control regulations and ensure compliance with international trade laws applicable to quantum technology.

Skills & Experience

Required Skills & Experience

  • Educational Background : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LL.B. / LL.M.), Business Law, or a comparable qualification.
  • Professional Experience : 2–3 years of experience / familiarity of regulatory frameworks, or a related legal field.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking : Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements, translate them into business-oriented solutions, and integrate compliance processes into existing company structures.
  • Problem-Solving & Process Optimization : Solution-oriented mindset with a structured and proactive approach to identifying, optimizing, and implementing compliance processes.
  • Communication & Collaboration : Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Language Skills : Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Preferred Skills & Experience

    Expertise : Interest in a technology-driven environment. Experience in technology sector is an advantage, particularly in fast-evolving regulatory environments.

    Regulatory Knowledge : Knowledge of legal frameworks related to intellectual property, technology licensing, and trade regulations.

    Export Control : Familiarity with international trade laws and export control regulations.
