What are my responsibilities?
General responsibilities
- Collaboration in concept creation and system design of electronic and electromechanical assemblies / systems / interfaces
- Analysis of requirements
Product development :
electronic circuit design (schematics)PCB / PCBA layout designWiring harnessocomponent specificationSupport to specify the HW / SW interfaces and creation of technical requirements / specificationsSupport to create test concepts for PCB / PCBA validation (durability, EMC / EMI, stress testing, etc.) and serial production (quality assurance)Collaboration with internal and external development partnersTechnical contact with suppliers, production sitesTechnical support for the construction, commissioning and testing of prototypes and verification measurements of electronics assemblies and devicesDevelopment processes and documentation in accordance with relevant regulatory provisionsKey Responsibilities
Design, develop, and validate embedded hardware systems based on microcontrollers, DSPs, and communication interfacesPerform schematic design and PCB / PCBA layoutdesign by using Altium Designer (experience with other EDA tools is a plus)Develop and integrate communication electronics (e.g., UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, LIN, NFC, Ethernet, IO-Link, industrial fieldbuses such as ProfiNet, EtherCAT, Modbus, wireless)Conduct electronics simulation and analysis (analog, digital, power, and signal integrity)Define and implement hardware bring-up, testing, and debugging proceduresCollaborate with firmware engineers to ensure seamless hardware–software integrationEnsure compliance with industry standards (IEC, IPC, UL, EMC / EMI, safety, reliability, automotive / industrial if applicable)Support prototype assembly, verification, and validation through PCB / PCBA manufacturing processesContribute to documentation, design reviews, and continuous product improvementWhat do I need to qualify for this job?
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field5+ years of professional experience in embedded hardware developmentProficiency in schematics design and PCB / PCBA design with Altium DesignerStrong knowledge of microcontroller-based system design, including power suppliesExperience in circuit simulation tools (e.g., LTSpice, PSpice, Multisim, MATLAB / Simulink)Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design (op-amps, ADC / DAC, filters, power regulation)Proven expertise in EMI / EMC design techniques and compliance-oriented hardware designFamiliarity with PCBA manufacturing processes (DFM / DFT, BOM preparation, assembly constraints, test strategy)Practical debugging experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other lab equipmentAbility to troubleshoot and optimize hardware designs for performance, cost, and reliabilityStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in cross-functional teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English (at least B2 level)Enthusiasm for embedded hardware engineering with all its challengesHands-on mentalityStrong analytical thinkingSolution oriented way of workingHigh willingness to learnWillingness to travel occasionallyHigh awareness of qualityPersonal responsibilityHigh degree of initiativePrecise and structured working styleWell-groomed and polite demeanorAbility to work in and with a global teamWhat do we offer you?
