Responsibilities
- Design and implement a scalable data lakehouse that integrates structured and unstructured data
- Develop and maintain pipelines and workflows to ingest, process and store data from different sources
- Collaborate with data owners across the university and external vendors to integrate data into the lakehouse
- Create comprehensive documentation for the data lakehouse architecture, processes and standards
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and tools, and recommend the best technologies for specific data use cases
Your strengths and skills
Academic degree in the field of Data Engineering, Computer Science, Business Informatics or a related field3+ years of professional experience in database design, architecture and modelingExpertise in cloud data solutions, data lakehousing, big data technologies (e.g. Apache Spark, Delta Lake), database systems (SQL, NoSQL), Python, APIs (e.g. REST, SOAP) and ELT / ETL approachesKnowledge of data governance, data quality and regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR)Proficiency in English at a professional and negotiation levelStrong interpersonal and communication skills and an analytical mindset to guide projects, solve problems, explain complex systems clearly and engage effectively with stakeholdersWhat you can expect
