Your personal sphere of influence :

A PraeDoc university assistant position is to be filled at the Department of Business Analytics and Decisions starting from November 1st, 2025. The contract duration upon appointment is 4 years, with the employment initially being limited to 1,5 years and can automatically be extended to a total of 4 years, provided that the employer does not issue a non-extension notice within a maximum of 12 months.

Your future tasks :

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means :

You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of Operations Research and Machine Learnin

We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months- .

You will work on your dissertation and its completion- .

You will independently conduct teaching activities within the scope of collective bargaining agreements, in the field of Production and Logistics- .

You will undertake administrative tasks in research & teaching- .

You will supervise students- .

You will participate in publications / scientific presentations- .

This is part of your personality :

You have experience with exact and (meta-)heuristic solution methods in the field of Operations Research

You have a Master's degree in industrial engineering, information systems, business administration and / or economics, computer science or a related field- .

Experience performing and publishing academic research at peer-reviewed conferences and journals is a plus- .

You are an experienced programmer, preferably using the Python programming language- .

Experience modeling and solving vehicle routing problems involving variable travel durations is a plus- .

Experience modeling and solving optimization problems involving maritime settings is a plus- .

You are a team player with excellent social / communication skills- .

You have excellent English language skills, both written and spoken- .
