Postdoctoral Position in International Management
The research group of International Management at the Institute for Management & Marketing, University of Innsbruck, is offering a Postdoctoral Position (40-hour week), fixed-term for 6 years, starting from 01.01.2026.
Your tasks :
The duties and responsibilities of the successful applicant include, but are not limited to, research, teaching, and administrative tasks, as well as obtaining research funds. You will conduct independent research focused on firm-level data. Throughout this process, you will work together with senior faculty members on conducting your research projects, and will be expected to contribute to ongoing research projects, as well as to supervising junior researchers. You can expect regular feedback and guidance and mentoring throughout your research from our senior faculty. Regarding the topics of your research, we offer a good degree of flexibility and autonomy to the successful applicant, however, expect the research projects to be empirical in nature and to fall within the topics in international business. There will also be a requirement to teach two classes in the international management field with a teaching load of two hours per semester each, as well as to supervise students.
Your profile
We are looking for applicants with a strong academic record, including a completed relevant PhD (or doctorate) degree, or nearing completion of such a degree. For research and teaching purposes we expect you to have excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and at least a working knowledge of German. Prior knowledge of data analysis techniques and software (particularly R) will be particularly important. The successful applicant will have shown evidence of the ability to produce high-quality research and publish it in leading academic journals. An ability to work with major firm-level databases and company documents is a key requirement for this role, an understanding of digital technology and digital business models is a plus. Experience with teaching in tertiary institutions is a must.
